Sync & backups
Save ≠ Publish
Section titled “Save ≠ Publish”Editing a form in the app and clicking Save stores the changes, but does not publish them to the store. To reach the storefront you must Sync.
Each form is published as a Shopify metaobject. The theme extension reads that metaobject to render the drawer.
Sync with Shopify
Section titled “Sync with Shopify”- Save the form.
- Click Force Sync (the hint on the Settings tab calls it “Sync to Shopify”).
- The sync runs in the background; reload to see the status.
On the form’s Settings tab you’ll see the status: Synced, Not synced or Sync failed, and the last sync date.
Form status
Section titled “Form status”A form only appears on the store if it’s Active and Synced, and its product has the form assigned with the app embed enabled.
Backup & restore (JSON)
Section titled “Backup & restore (JSON)”- Export form as JSON (Settings tab) — downloads the whole form config. Use it to back up or to copy the form to another store.
- Import from JSON (dashboard) — creates a new form from an exported file.
Steps, wording, translations and design travel intact. Add-ons don’t, because they’re linked to products in one specific store: see Copying a form to another store.
No data is deleted when you change plans: your forms, their steps and their translations stay exactly where they are.
